I'm not sure I understand the meaning of "I'm rubbish." Is it the UK counterpart of, "I"m wasted"?

I always enjoyed reading your comments on Magdelena's blog, and took the time yesterday to read your recent postings here. Please don't stop writing.

Marguerite Yourcenar, author of "The Memoirs of Hadrian," spoke of the despair of the writer who does not write. An awful condition, as I well know.

Come back soon.

Hahaha! No, not really. Most commonly it's British for trash but also is used to mean bad, crap etc. In this instance, at least, it was meant as "I'm not very good at this regular blogging lark, am I?"

The reason for not blogging aren't down to any form of writers block or anything, more to do with boring, but upsetting, shit in my personal life (= little creative enthusiasm + lack of horny = no inclination to blog).
I'm touched by all yr comments and concern though. Thankyou.

Though re: the writer's block thing as bought up by Kochanie, I do identify all to well with this:

"Nevertheless Jonas was working less, without really knowing why. He was always diligent, but he now had trouble painting, even in the moments of solitude. He would spend such moments looking at the sky. He had always been absent-minded, easily lost in thought, but now he became a dreamer. He would think of painting, of his vocation, instead of painting. "I love to paint," he still said to himself, and the hand holding the brush would hang at its side as he listened to a distant radio."

From Exile and the Kingdom, by Albert Camus.
